| I am a podiatrist and I learned about shoes both from podiatrists and pedorthists. I have learned a lot from the Seminars I attended such as at Eneslow Pedorthic Institute. I encourage every podiatrist to go to the Eneslow Pedorthic Institute. In addition, I have found that Enslow Store was very helpful in the treatment of some of my patients. I am very happy with the Lynco insoles as well as other products such as New Balance Sneakers. You can call Enslow and ask if they sell these products. I believe Enslow's telephone number is (718) 357-5800. Regarding shoes and diabetics, please understand that if you see a podiatrist that refers you to a certified pedorthist, they will measure your foot and understand the importance of not wearing tight shoes. Some diabetics have a loss of sensation to the feet sometimes resulting in them not being aware that their shoes are too tight. Tight shoes combined with poor foot circulation may possibly result in a footulceration leading to possible infection and gangrene. Why not see a podiatrist who can attempt to dispense propper fitting shoes to you or refer you to see a certified pedorthist. I believe that it is advantageous to go to an orthopedic shoe store such as Enslow that has a wide selection of shoes and different styles in stock so that there probably would be no waiting to order the shoes if they are already in stock in many different styles to choose from. Please understand there are many other orthopedic shoe stores out there with certified pedorthists present. Enslow is not the only store. For example, there also is Turnpike Orthopedic Shoes at 186 06 Union Turnpike in Queens and their telephone number is (718) 454-5870. disclaimer: Do not rely upon any information on this website but consult with your individual podiatrist.
